It seems like these days, alot of my time (and money) is being spent on friends getting hitched...and it is totally worth it! :) Last weekend, I flew to Texas for the weekend for one of my oldest friends, Brookie and her Aggie husband, Jim G.'s unique and incredibly memorable vows and parties! I got to see so many friends from high school and college, not to mention hanging with the fam watching one of my favorite teams: The Dallas Cowboys! Congrats Brookie and Jim Galbreath! :) Love yall and see you soon!!!!
COLLEGE FOOTBALL! There is nothing like it...especially in a town that i love and miss every Saturday called College Station, TX...I stole this from another aggie's blog and it gave me chills! If you are an aggie....you'll get chills too....if you're not one...maybe this will give you a glimpse into the reason we are so passionate about our college football team, our university and our beloved town, especially when we are sitting among 80,000 in a little place known as Kyle Field!
I am headed to the University of South Carolina game on Saturday in Columbia...it is fun to get to go and tailgate with friends and their atmosphere there is great...but nothing can compare to a packed house cheering on the team that i truly love!
This past Thursday, Cori and I took a half day and drove up to Blowing Rock, NC (about 2 hours north of Charlotte)...her parents just built a house up there and we went to play golf (and tennis) with her parents and brother! It was so fun and definitely great to be in the mountains...it was so much cooler than the Charlotte 100s we were experiencing last week! Even though it was a short trip, we packed alot of stuff in...what a fun cute town with great shopping and boutiques in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina...I only wish I had gotten some good scenic pics...they wouldn't do it justice! oh well...next time!
Driving the golf cart around
Cori's mom and Cooper (her brother, Stan's dog) who i secretly want to come live at our house...but since i can't keep Cori's plants alive when she is gone, i don't think she is going to let me have an actual animal around. :(
My awesome swing! yeah, right...it is getting better though! :)
A fun Brazilian steakhouse in Boone, NC...it was such a blast!
The owner man with us and the meat on a stick! delicious! :)
Outside the Gol Express....get it? GOOOOOOOOAAAAALLLLLL! haha...yeah, i didn't
either at first! :)
Alright, i am off to the beach this weekend for a short trip...I'll post pictures when i get back!
Okay, so i just got back from an awesome week of "vacation" in Texas and Colorado! It was alot of traveling (stories to come later) but worth it to get to see friends and family. So...the first couple days were spent laying out by the pool in Port Aransas (Port A) with my friend Brookie and all her bridesmaids for a Bachelorette weekend...so fun! Then we drove 7 1/2 long hours back to Dallas for her shower that night...also very fun! Here comes the interesting part...on Monday, i flew to Colorado to see my parents for a couple days...now I love spending time with my parents and all, but it was a little weird being on vacation with them without any siblings..and mind you, i am almost 28 years old...so I think this summer was the last one that that will be happening! Anyways, it was a great and relaxing end to the summer full of youth trips...here are some highlights from some of those! Pittsburgh Group 2007
more to come later...my computer is not working properly! ugh!
So...if you know me, you know that i like to be on the cutting edge of what's new, whether it is a new relationship in Hollywood according to US Weekly or a new Tex Mex restaurant in Charlotte or new fashion trend or joining myspace...then only to find out (from my much edgier students that Facebook has replaced myspace...all that to say i have given in once again to the trend that is overtaking the internet...blogging. Okay, so no, I'm not getting married, having a baby, or needing an outlet to speak deep thoughts of theology...but I am doing this so that I can keep up with my friends all of the country and world, now...thanks to the opportunity to travel over the years! So...I'm not sure if i will be good at this or if it will be entertaining, but here we go...
~daughter~sister~sister-in law~ granddaughter ~ niece~ cousin~ friend ~ "aunt" to some of my sweet friend's children~ I have spent 4 incredible years living in Charlotte, NC serving as a student pastor and just moved back to Dallas to get my counseling license!!! It is bittersweet because I love so many people up there but am excited about what God is going to do in the next season of my life!
